Hydro-Harmony: Graywater recycling project in Islamic center ablution areas
Student: Mohamed Ahmed Didi
SDGs: 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure)
Description: The Hydro-Harmony project focuses on collecting and treating graywater generated from ablution (wudu) practices in an Islamic center. By implementing an efficient recycling system, the project aims to reduce waste, promote sustainable water management, and support water-conscious practices within religious facilities.
Developing a multi-modal drone for aerial and aquatic SAR
Student: Ismail Looth Shameem
SDG: 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure)
Description: Given that 99% of the Maldives is ocean, this project explores developing a multi-modal drone capable of both aerial and aquatic locomotion for search and rescue (SAR) operations. The primary objective is a rapidly deployable drone that can travel faster than conventional coastguard vessels, transition into a submersible for underwater search, and carry inflatables/airbags.
AI Driven Smart Aquatics
Student: Fahud Ibrahim Rasheed
SDG: 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure)
Description: AI Driven Smart Aquatics is geared towards aquarium enthusiasts, enabling them to manage their aquariums and small-scale fish tanks easily. This system allows owners to automate routine tank water changes, water pH management, and maintain appropriate living conditions for aquatic pets without manual human input.
Sensor Based Motorcycle Restrain System With An Integrated Brake System
Student: Mausoom Mohamed
SDG: 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure)
Description: This project aims to enhance motorcycle safety by developing a sensor-based restraint mechanism that works in coordination with an integrated brake system. It detects risky or abrupt movements, activating automated restraints and braking to prevent accidents, thereby reducing fatalities and injuries.
Optimizes Solar Powered Irrigation and Monitoring System for Enhanced Agricultural Efficiency in the Maldives
Students: Mohamed Masih, Ahmed Nizam, Adam Nifaz, Hussain Yameen, Mohamed Ahmed
SDGs: 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), 13 (Climate Action)
