In law and related fields, students can study law, Shariah, criminal justice, Islamic finance, alternative dispute resolution and corporate governance, as well as political science and international relations. Business programmes include business management, marketing, accounting and finance, banking and finance, human resource management, international business and economics. Tourism and hospitality, mass communication, project management and aviation management are also on offer.

Engineering programmes cover mechanical, electrical, civil and mechatronics engineering, as well as engineering management. Programmes in health and psychology include nursing, public health, health services management, psychology, health psychology, forensic psychology, organisational psychology and counselling. Research studies, interior architecture and design, and culinary arts complete the range.

International Degrees Delivered in the Maldives

Villa College gives students the opportunity to earn international degrees without leaving the Maldives. It delivers programmes from the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) and the University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom, and from the University of Cyberjaya in Malaysia.

Over the past ten years, more than 3,000 students have graduated from UWE programmes delivered at Villa College. Students on engineering programmes run with the University of Portsmouth can also complete the final years of their degree at Portsmouth.

Recognised for Quality

Villa College is the only higher education institution in the Maldives with a QS Stars Five Star Excellent rating. It is also ranked among the world's top 100 institutions for Quality Education (SDG 4) in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings.

Villa College's programmes are accredited by the Maldives Qualifications Authority, and some are also approved by the Maldives Bar Council and the Allied Health Council. Established in 2007 as the first private college in the Maldives, Villa College has produced more than 27,000 graduates to date.

A Faster Route to Professional Accounting Qualifications

Graduates of Villa College's Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance can gain internationally recognised professional accounting qualifications more quickly. The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) has granted the programme exemptions up to Management level, so graduates can begin the CIMA qualification directly at the Management Case Study (MCS).

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has also granted the programme six exemptions, the most it has awarded to a Maldivian degree to date.

Career Readiness Built Into Every Programme

Villa College designs its programmes to prepare graduates for the workplace. Every programme offers practical experience through simulations, internships, externships and partnerships with industry. As a result, Villa College graduates enter the job market fully prepared and able to compete on an international stage.

This year, Villa College introduced two further initiatives. The Graduate Impact Semester gives students the opportunity to carry out work of practical benefit to communities and industry. The Graduate Learning Profile shows employers the experience and skills students gain outside the classroom.

A Support System Covering Academic, Psychological and Physical Wellbeing

Villa College gives particular priority to making students' academic journey easier and keeping them mentally and physically well while they study. Learning support is available in groups and individually, both online and face-to-face. It covers academic writing, referencing, English language tutorials, study skills workshops and help with writing dissertations.

Through peer-assisted learning, students also help one another with their studies. The V-Care Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre provides psychological support, while a dedicated student gym and on-campus sports facilities cater for physical wellbeing.

For independent study, students can use the Learning Hub, equipped with modern technologies such as virtual and augmented reality. The college also has 16 laboratories dedicated to different programmes.

Flexibility for Working Professionals

Villa College's classes are scheduled to suit working professionals and those studying alongside family commitments. Most Villa College programmes can also be studied online, except those in engineering, teaching, nursing and pharmacy.
