Villa College recently hosted the Oath-Taking Ceremony for the second batch of students in the National Certificate 3 in Phlebotomy programme. Held on Thursday the sixteenth of April 2026, the event celebrated the students successfully completing their theoretical studies and marked their formal transition into supervised practical training. This progression highlights the practical approach of combining classroom learning with applied clinical experience.
The ceremony focused closely on the ethical standards required in the medical profession. The agenda featured a welcome address by Ali Shareef, Director of the Centre for Foundation Studies, followed by an introduction to the oath by Uza. Aishath Khaleela, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Shariah and Law, and remarks from the Rector, Dr Ahmed Anwar. By taking this oath, students affirmed their commitment to professional integrity and patient safety. This pledge helps ensure that future practitioners clearly understand their ethical responsibilities before they begin working directly with patients.
Supporting the development of a dependable healthcare workforce remains a central goal for the institution. As these students move forward into the clinical phase of their training, they carry the core values needed to contribute meaningfully to the national medical sector. The ceremony, which concluded with a group photograph, reflects the nurturing community environment that helps prepare the next generation of capable healthcare professionals for their roles in the field.
