Students enrolled in the Diploma in Teaching Primary and Special Educational Needs at Villa College completed the final leg of their outbound mobility trip to Sri Lanka with a focus on holistic support for special educational needs. The concluding visit provided participants with valuable insights into long-term developmental care and functional skills training for individuals of varying age groups.

The mobility team's final visit was to Chithra Lane, where they toured both the school and the Children Resource Centre. Chithra Lane is a dedicated educational institution catering to students with special needs from infancy through the age of twenty-one. By observing structured programmes across early intervention, primary education, and young adult care, the students gained a comprehensive understanding of how tailored educational frameworks adapt to a learner's growth over time.

A primary takeaway from the visit was learning how to foster independent life skills for special needs children within classroom environments. Understanding how to integrate functional life-skills training into daily teaching enables future educators to support personal independence alongside academic progress. This experience equips Villa College students with practical, evidence-based methods to enhance inclusive education practices and support services upon returning to the Maldives.
