Villa College has officially announced the launch of the 10th International Conference on Social Research and Innovation, which is scheduled to take place on the 8th and 9th of August 2026. Organised by the Institute for Research and Innovation, this milestone event continues a decade-long tradition of fostering academic excellence and providing a platform for intellectual exchange among academics, industry professionals, and civil society representatives. The launch ceremony was led by Deputy Vice Rector Dr Mohamed Adil, Dean of Research Dr Fazeela Ibrahim, and Conference Coordinator Dr Mamdooha Ismail, who collectively unveiled the vision for what promises to be a significant convergence of global minds.
The conference is centred around the theme "Tides of Transformation: Shaping Sustainable Futures," capturing the dynamic interplay between innovation, equity, and resilience in today's rapidly changing world. Inspired by the fluid adaptability required of island nations, this theme encourages participants to explore how research can effectively bridge local realities with global ambitions. The agenda is designed to address critical challenges ranging from climate change and resource management to social equity and the responsible adoption of technology. By facilitating these discussions, the conference aims to transform current global challenges into opportunities for sustainable living, inclusive growth, and collective well-being.
To ensure accessibility and inclusivity for a global audience, ICSRI 2026 will be conducted as a hybrid event, allowing participants to engage either in person at the Villa College campus or online. The scientific programme is structured around eight comprehensive tracks that cover diverse fields such as transformative digital futures, legal systems and public policy, cultural expression in education, and social innovation for human dignity. Further tracks will delve into integrated health systems, circular economies associated with renewable energy, equitable workforces, and adaptive mobility. In addition to traditional keynote speeches and paper presentations, the event will feature "Impact Room" sessions, which are open discussions designed to connect policymakers and industry partners with the academic community to generate actionable, evidence-based insights.
The call for papers is now open, inviting the submission of full research papers, review papers, and case studies that align with the conference's thematic tracks. Researchers interested in contributing must submit their abstracts by 19 April 2026, with notifications of acceptance scheduled for May. Authors intending to present full papers are required to submit their manuscripts by 30 June 2026. Participants should also note that early bird registration concludes on 21 May 2026, with the final registration deadline set for 22 July 2026. Selected papers will undergo a rigorous peer review process for potential publication in Scopus-indexed journals and the International Journal of Social Research and Innovation.
