2 min read

Villa College has officially commenced its "O-Week" designed to welcome new students of the May 2025 intake and help them acclimate to the college environment. The three-day orientation activities, which started today, will continue through May 22, 2025.

The first day of Orientation Week, Tuesday, May 20, featured a "Faculty Orientation" session from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. This session was conducted both on campus and online via Google Meet, allowing flexible participation for all students. During this session, faculty heads and experienced lecturers met with new students to share information about academic programs and other important college-related information.

Two significant activities are scheduled for Wednesday. The first activity, "VC Scavenger Hunt," will take place on campus with dedicated time slots: Foundation students from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Undergraduate students from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. This activity provides students with an opportunity to meet staff from various administrative departments including Registration, Finance, Examinations, and Learning Support, allowing them to gather essential information about college services.

Additionally on Wednesday afternoon from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, a special welcome session will be hosted by the College Rector, Dr. Ahmed Anwar. This session will be held at the main hall of the QI campus, with online participation available via Zoom for remote students.

The final day of Orientation Week, Thursday, May 22, will feature "VC Virtual Venture" from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. This online interactive session conducted via Google Meet is specifically designed for distance learning students. It aims to foster friendships among students, provide important college information, and help them adapt to the college environment.

"Our hope is that through these activities, every student will gain complete information about college services and opportunities, paving the way for constructive and successful days at the college," said Fathimath Jazly Amir, Manager of Student Services at Villa College.

Villa College consistently strives to provide students with the most comprehensive educational experience and to establish a friendly and supportive environment. This Orientation Week clearly demonstrates the college's commitment and effort toward achieving this goal.
