Meet our Assistant Professor, Dr. Nafeena Abdul Munaf, who holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Power System Engineering from Anna University. With yea...rs of experience as a Senior Lecturer and Assistant Professor, Dr. Nafeena brings a wealth of knowledge to the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
Dr. Nafeena's research interests are focused on Smart Grid, evolutionary algorithms, and life cycle analysis. Currently, she is working on a research project that involves performing life cycle analysis and recycling of lubricating oil to produce concentrated plastics.
As a dedicated educator, Dr. Nafeena teaches various modules including Power Electronics & Drives, Power System, Control System, Instrumentation and Measurements. Her recent publication titled 'An ML approach for household Power Consumption' was published in IEEE.
Dr. Nafeena is also a lifetime member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and is a certified reviewer for sustainable computing by Elsevier. We are proud to have Dr. Nafeena on our team and look forward to the valuable contributions she will make to the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.

Dr. Lokesh Singh
Assistant Professor
Dr. Lokesh Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Villa College. With over 12 years of experience in the field of engineering, he has served several roles in a...cademia. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering from Career Point University and a Master of Technology (MTech) specialised in Machine Design from the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra. Recently, he earned his Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol. This additional qualification has provided him with a broad perspective on business and management, which he believes will be valuable in his role as an Assistant Professor.
Dr. Singh has published several research papers and participated in many conferences. His latest publication is on the frequencies of the triangular plate with two-dimensional parabolic thickness under a temperature field. His research interests are in FEM, flow analysis, design optimization, CFD, sustainable development and renewable energy. He has published one patent in renewable energy in India.
As a faculty member, Dr. Singh teaches courses in mechanical engineering, including courses on Solid Mechanics, Research and development methodology, Engineering Materials, and Manufacturing technology. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of engineers and is dedicated to creating an engaging and supportive learning environment for his students. He also teaches a course in entrepreneurship, which he believes is essential for engineers who are interested in starting their own businesses or working in entrepreneurial environments. He is passionate about promoting innovation and creativity among his students and believes that entrepreneurship is a key driver of technological progress and economic growth. Along with this, he coordinates the programs for the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering at Villa College.
Dr. Singh is affiliated with the International Association of Engineers (IAENG) and the Institute for Engineering Research and Publications (IFERP). He has also received international and national recognition for his work and was awarded the ESDA Young Scientist Award 2022 at the World Environment Summit 2022 held in New Delhi, India.

Dr. Sivakumar Thankaraj Ambujam
Assistant Professor
Dr. Sivakumar Thankaraj Ambujam is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Villa College. Dr.Sivakumar has completed Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Anna University..., Chennai, M.B.A in Project Management from Alagappa University, Karaikudi, M.E in “Power Electronics & Drives. Dr.Sivakumar has 10 years of experience in teaching and research. Prior to joining Villa College, he served as an Assistant Professor at Ponjesly College of Engineering in Nagercoil, India.
Dr. Sivakumar's research interests lie in the areas of renewable energy systems, power electronics and embedded systems. His current research project focuses on power quality improvement in grids and Energy Management. He has recently published a book titled “Fundamental of Research Methodology” and a paper titled "An ML Approach for Household Power Consumption."
In addition to his research pursuits, Dr. Sivakumar teaches a variety of modules in his current role, including Electrical and Electronics Principles, Electromagnetism, Microprocessor and Microcontroller, Embedded Systems, Signals and Systems, Electronic Circuits, Communication Systems and Digital Communication.
Dr. Sivakumar is a lifetime member of the Institute of Scholars (InSc) and the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). He has received numerous awards for his work, including the Research Excellence Award 2020 from InSc and the Best Faculty Green9 SDG Award 2020 from the Energy Efficiency Research Group affiliated to Institutions of Green Engineers (IGEN). He also received the Best Organizer Award-SDG Conclave 2020 from The Institution of Green Engineers in association with 14 institutional partners.

Nithin Chakkiyath Jose
Engineering Laboratory Technician
Nithin Jose is a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a strong educational foundation and extensive experience in utility and service management. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical En...gineering from Kerala University and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the State Board of Technical Education. Nithin has also pursued specialized courses and certifications, including ASNT Level II Certificates in Radiographic Test, Ultrasonic Test, Magnetic Particle Test, and Penetrant Test, as well as an IOSH Management Safety certificate from the U.K and Basic First Aid Training from the Maldivian Red Crescent. His expertise spans a wide range of areas, including the management of pumping stations, reservoirs, and tanker filling stations. He is adept at utilizing leak detection devices, handling various valves, and working with HDPE, MS & DI Pipes and fittings. Nithin also has experience with surge vessels, flow meters, water meters, pressure transmitters, and electro& butt fusion pipe welding. His proficiency extends to Civil works execution, Electrical & MEP works, and using software such as AutoCAD, Solid Edge, Ansys, CFD, and M.S. Office. Nithin's professional journey reflects his dedication and competence.
He currently serves as an Engineering Laboratory Technician at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Male’, Republic of Maldives, within Villa College. Prior to this, he worked as a Mechanical Engineer for SMC Infrastructure Private Limited, contributing to the construction of water supply facilities for the Ministry of National Planning and Housing Infrastructure in the Republic of Maldives. His experience also includes roles as a Maintenance Engineer for Galfar Engineering & Contracting SAOG in Oman, where he handled the operation and maintenance of distribution and transmission pipelines, wells, tanker filling stations, and pumping stations for the Public Authority of Water (PAW). Nithin has also served as a Regional Maintenance Engineer for PAW in Muscat, Oman, and as a Mechanical Engineer for the National Water Company (NWC) under Al-Kawther Industries Co. Ltd in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. During his career, Nithin has demonstrated exceptional skills and knowledge, leading to notable achievements such as presenting a paper on “ENERGY ANALYSIS OF CEMENT KILN” at an international conference on Manufacturing and Material Engineering. Nithin Jose's blend of academic excellence, practical experience, and continuous professional development makes him a valuable asset in the field of Mechanical Engineering and related industries.
