Villa College proudly announces that School of Computer Science students Aishath Alya Bint Shahid and Aishath Musheera have successfully passed the prerequisite modules to advance to the prestigious Huawei Seeds for the Future 2024 programme. Scheduled to depart for China on September 21st, they will embark on an exciting journey that includes four mandatory courses: Cloud Computing, AI Basics, 5G Basics, and Digital Power.

The Seeds for the Future programme aims to inspire global talent in the fields of digitalization, innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability. Participants will engage in hands-on training within the ICT industry, gain insight into cutting-edge digital technologies, and have the opportunity to build a valuable network of peers and industry professionals.

Significantly, the selection of two female students for this programme emphasises the commitment to diversity and inclusivity within the faculty. This achievement aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 5: Gender Equality, which advocates for equal opportunities in technology and related fields.

Notably, Aishath Musheera will lead not only the Maldives team but also the Bhutan team during the programme.

Best wishes are extended to Aishath Alya Bint Shahid and Aishath Musheera as they embark on this exciting opportunity, paving the way for future female leaders in technology.
