VILLA COLLEGE RESEARCH GRANT 2021 AWARDED TO THE RECIPIENTS

The recipients of the Villa College Research Grant 2021 were awarded their respective research grants in the Villa College's first staff meeting of 2021 held today. The recipients of this years' Research Grant are Dr. Fazeela Ibrahim, Dr. Brooke Wilmsen and Ms. Shuzna Majdhee for their research project on "16 years later: Long-term psychosocial consequences for children affected in the 2004 Tsunami in Maldives", Dr. Aishath Nasheeda and Mr. David Mingay for their research project on "What needs to change to ensure effective Life Skills Education delivery in Maldivian Schools", Hassan Miras and Zubair Hassan for their research project on "Effect of social media usage on student intention to continue and recommendation to study at higher education institutions in Maldives" and Aishath Thashkeel and Dr. Byju K.P.M. on their research project on "Sources of negative emotions and resultant counterproductive work behavior - moderating effect of control perceptions". The purpose of the Research Grant is to develop the required financial support and policy environment at Villa College which encourages independent research and dissemination of research knowledge, in line with the strategic objective of fostering a research environment that encourages staff and students to undertake, and disseminate/showcase their research and inventions.
