A special mental health centre has been officially opened at Villa College today. The "VCare Counseling and Psychotherapy Centre" at Villa College is the first of its kind in the country to be opened by a higher education provider.
The centre was inaugurated at a special ceremony held at Villa College today. Dr. Ahmed Anwar, Rector of Villa College, outlined the centre's primary goal in fostering a mentally healthy environment for both students and staff at Villa College and Villa International High School. In his inspiring speech, Dr. Anwar expressed optimism about the center's potential to enhance the overall quality of education at Villa College and address challenges faced by the student and staff community.
The VCare Counseling and Psychotherapy Center will provide psychosocial support, counselling, psychotherapy and psychological assessment services. Furthermore, students currently pursuing Bachelors in Psychology and Masters of Science (Counselling) at Villa College will have the opportunity to complete internships at the center as academic and professional experience.
As of today, the services of the center are open to the public and will be open on official working days from 9AM to 9PM. Appointments can be booked through the center’s website at https://vcare.villacollege.edu.mv.
