VILLA COLLEGE EMBRACES HEALTH AND WELLBEING IN AN EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT CAFÉ TALK

Villa College hosted a transformative “Café Talk” focused on health and well-being for its employees, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being. The session featured Mr. Ahmed Afaal, the highly esteemed Managing Director of ADK, who brought over 30 years of invaluable experience in healthcare management to the forefront. Mr. Afaal's presentation delved into the intricate relationship between staff well-being and organizational productivity, emphasizing the tangible impact on collective effectiveness through a meticulous analysis of sick leave data.


During the discourse, Mr. Afaal provided insightful perspectives on specific health concerns, including sugar intake, soft drinks, exercise, and the delicate balance between calorie intake and burning. Notably, ADK's proactive measures to integrate health and well-being as integral components of employee performance were highlighted. Mr. Afaal also shed light on the pervasive effects of smoking, attributing a substantial percentage of non-communicable diseases to secondary smoking.


The presentation extended to crucial aspects of maintaining well-being, such as regular exercise, mindful calorie management, and the efficacy of the 21-day rule in habit formation, drawing from Mr. Afaal's personal experiences. This comprehensive session underscored ADK's commitment to cultivating a workplace culture that prioritizes the holistic well-being of its staff, incorporating it as a crucial component in the staff performance appraisal process.


By focusing on UN SDG Goal 3, Villa College showcased its commitment to the health and well-being of its employees while playing a part in the global initiative to foster healthy lives and well-being for everyone.
