OUR FACULTY OF ENGINEERING CELEBRATES WORLD ENGINEERING DAY 2024

On March 4th, 2024, Villa College staff and students came together to celebrate Engineering Day, uniting in a shared commitment to sustainability and innovation. This year Engineering Day 2024 was themed as “Engineering Solution for the Sustainable World” by UNESCO. This momentous occasion commenced with a delightful cake-cutting ceremony. To encourage women in tech, cake cutting was facilitated by our Foundation engineering students Ms Rimsha and Fathimath Aanaa symbolizing the unity and camaraderie within our engineering community.

The celebration featured a thought-provoking lecture by Dr. Lokesh Singh, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering, who elucidated the principles outlined in the "WFEO Model Code of Practice for Sustainable Development and Environmental Stewardship” as developed by the World Federation of Engineering Association (WFEO). The lecture insights enriched our understanding of sustainability within the context of engineering, sparking meaningful discussions on integrating sustainable practices into our work. The event served as a poignant reminder of the pivotal role engineers play in shaping a better future for humanity. Through collaboration and a steadfast commitment to sustainability, we reaffirmed our dedication to creating positive change and building a brighter tomorrow.
