A new series of training of the IDRC-funded project ‘A Multimodal Approach to Teacher Professional Development (MATPD) in Low Resource Settings’ has begun in Mumbai on 28th June 2022. This project is led by Villa College in collaboration with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) of India and the Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) of Afghanistan. From the Maldives, Villa College researchers and fellows from the South Asian Teacher Educators (SATE) fellowship programme will be participating in this 10-day workshop. It is conducted by the Centre for Excellence in Teacher Education (CETE) of TISS. In total, over 30 fellows from the Maldives and Nepal participate in the full training, while fellows from Afghanistan will join some of the sessions online. This workshop aims to introduce participants to action research, explore mentoring, and facilitate cross-country discussions on current status and challenges to teacher educators and teachers professional development.
