Villa College, Career Day for Psychology Students, held at the QI Campus on the 15th of August 2022.
The event aimed to facilitate meaningful interactions between students and established
professionals in the field, providing a platform for valuable insights and networking opportunities.

With the objective of equipping students with industry knowledge and potential career pathways,
the Career Day welcomed three prominent employers and one independent consultant in the
psychology industry. These esteemed organizations showcased their companies, shared valuable
information about available job and internship opportunities, and shed light on potential career
trajectories within their respective fields.

The participating organizations included:

Aged Care: A recognized leader in providing quality care for the elderly, Aged Care offered valuable
insights into the psychology sector's role in addressing the needs of the aging population. Students
had the opportunity to learn about the rewarding career opportunities available in this specialized
field.

Alzheimer's Society: With a focus on raising awareness and supporting individuals affected by
Alzheimer's disease, the Alzheimer's Society provided valuable insights into the psychological
aspects of dementia care. Students gained a deeper understanding of the impact of psychological
support for individuals and families affected by this condition.

UNICEF: As a renowned international organization dedicated to advocating for the rights and well-
being of children, UNICEF highlighted the importance of psychology in child development and
protection. Students had the chance to explore the diverse range of opportunities within this field,
including roles in research, program development, and policy advocacy.

The Career Day served as an opportunity for students to expand their professional networks and
gain a deeper understanding of the psychology industry. By engaging with employers and industry
professionals, students were able to acquire firsthand knowledge of the skills and experiences
sought after by employers, enabling them to make informed decisions about their future career
