Can staff get corporate health insurance?

All full-time staff at Villa College are eligible for corporate health insurance. Staff can, upon payment, apply for insurance for their dependents as well.

How are the leaves such as Annual, Medical, Maternity and other leaves offered at Villa College?

We offer leaves at Villa College in adherence to the Staff Leave Policy of Villa College and the Employment Act of Maldives.

Is there any bonus provided by Villa College?

We understand the importance of recognizing and appreciating staff for their hard work. Considering this, Villa College gives an attendance bonus for the staff with exemplary punctuality as per the terms and policies of VC.

What does Villa College offer as recognition for excellent staff?

At villa college, as a form of recognition and appreciation, we have a few awards that are given. They include Employee of the Month, an employee of the Year, and a staff excellence award.

What are my benefits if I am a student of VC who works at VC?

Villa College offers staff study leave and financial assistance to staff based on their years of service as per the staff study leave and financial assistance policy of Villa College.

Are staff working at Villa College eligible for the Maldives Retirement Pension Scheme?

All full-time employees will be eligible for the Maldives Retirement Pension Scheme as per the Maldives Pension Act (Act no. 8/2009). The Employee will be enrolled in the Maldives Retirement Pension Scheme wherein the Employee shall contribute a minimum of 7% of the Employee’s pensionable wage (i.e. net basic salary) and the Employer shall contribute a minimum of 7% of the Employee’s pensionable wage to the Employee’s pension account at the Maldives Retirement Pension Scheme. The Employee will receive the monthly remuneration subsequent to the deduction of the Employee’s monthly contribution to the Retirement Pension Scheme.

International Applicants

Before the arrival, VC will assist with visa processing. Once hired, VC offers airport pick-up and 14-day accommodation along with annual leave return tickets (when applicable) for the international staff.

Do you offer part-time contracts?

Yes. At villa college, we offer part-time contracts. Every semester, part-time lecturers, research consultants, and learning centre coordinators are hired.
