Maldives Qualifications Authority officials visited Villa College to conduct an external review site visit. The panel consisted of experts from overseas along with officials from the MQA. The purpose of this Institutional Audit is to recognize the strengths of the college's operation and its academic quality. This audit will provide relevant recommendations for the future.
The initial meeting was held with the Vice Rector and the senior management of Villa College, at 1500hrs today, followed by a meeting with academic heads of the college.
The review visit will take place from the 1st to the 2nd of August.

Villa College has launched the application process for programmes starting in September 2017.
There are 53 programmes on offer in the areas of information technology, business management, teaching, education, sharia, law, human resources, accounting and marine studies. There are 6 master’s level courses, 3 postgraduate/diploma level courses, 14 degree courses, 2 advanced diploma courses, 3 diploma courses, 9 foundation courses and 8 Certificate level 3 courses on offer.
Programmes will be launched at the QI Campus in Mal’e, in addition to several programmes at Villa College Eydhafushi campus, Villa College Naifaru campus, Villa College Addu campus, Villa College Hithadhoo Campus, Villa College Mahibadhoo campus, Villa College Kulhudhuffushi campus, and Villa College Fuvahmulah Campus.
Application forms are due by the 6th of August 2017.

We are 15 days away from the 10th anniversary of Villa College.
The countdown began with traditional boduberu at Villa College QI campus yesterday evening.
Villa College was registered and established as the first private College in the Maldives by the Department of Higher Education on 17th October 2007, with 20 students. Since then, the student numbers have grown steadily and there are over three thousand students learning various disciplines enrolled presently.
With over 9 campuses and 14 learning centres around the country, our vision is to be the leading higher education provider in the Maldives, highly valued locally and recognized internationally.

Villa College commenced its programmes in AA Ukulhas on 18th September 2017 at its learning centre. The programmes that commenced in this intake include Certificate 3 in Business and Certificate 4 in Business. Certificate 4 in Business is a one-year foundation programme that allows O’Level leavers to progress towards a first degree qualification.
At present, 30 students are studying at the Ukulhas learning centre, and Villa College hopes to introduce degree programmes at the centre in January 2018. Villa College takes this opportunity to thank the Ukulhas Council for their commitment in facilitating this new initiative.

A certificate awarding ceremony was held at Villa College Naifaru Campus on 14 September 2017.
A total of 70 students were awarded certificates, which included Level 3, Level 4 and Diploma certificates.
Senior staff of the college including the Rector, Dr. Ahmed Anwar, attended the ceremony.
Villa College has established campuses in several atolls, making the process of obtaining internationally-accepted higher education easier by enabling students to study on their own island or on a nearby island.
