Application

How do I apply for a course?

  • Fill in the Application for Admission form (the form is available at the Villa College Reception or you can download it here)
  • Submit the completed form to the Villa College Reception
  • Pay the application fee of RF50/-

A complete application should have the following:

  • A completed, signed Application for Admission form
  • Attested copies of academic certificates and transcripts (Academic certificates other than O’Levels and A’Levels should be accredited from the Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA))
  • Copy of national identification card/passport
  • Two passport-sized photographs
  • School leaving certificate (applicable for Certificate III courses only)
  • Sponsorship letter (if the applicant is sponsored)

FAQ’s

  • What is the difference between applying, admitting and enrolling?
    • You must first apply to a program by filling in and submitting the application form in order to get admission to the College.
    • The College will notify you of your admission by providing you with the offer letter. Once the College notifies you, you are admitted to the College by offering you the opportunity to attend your chosen program.
    • Once you have accepted the offer and are registered, then you are enrolled on the course and can attend classes.
  • When will I get my offer letter?
    • You will receive your offer letter approximately two weeks after the application deadline.
  • How do I accept my offer?
    • On registration day (the date will be mentioned in your offer letter, and if the date has been changed you will be informed via SMS) you will have to submit your signed acceptance form (given to you with your offer letter).
  • When do I get enrolled?
    • You will be enrolled on registration day (the date will be mentioned in your offer letter, and if the date has been changed you will be informed via SMS).
  • When and how do I pay my fees?
    • You will have to make your payments on registration day (the date will be mentioned in your offer letter, and if the date has been changed you will be informed via SMS). Payment details will be available with your offer letter.
    • You can make your payment by cash or cheque. At the moment we do not accept cash cards or credit cards.
  • What can I do if I don’t want to study after enrolling?
    • If you don’t want to study after enrolling and wish to rejoin again in the next semester, you will have to fill in the Application for Deferment of Studies form and submit it to the Student Desk (the form is available here).
    • If you wish to withdraw from the program, you will have to fill in the Application for Withdrawal from Program form and submit it to the Student Desk (the form is available here).
  • What do I have to do if I want to change my program of study?
    • If you wish to change your program of study after you get enrolled, you will have to fill in the Application to Change of Program form and submit it to the Student Desk (the form is available here).

Orientation

  • What is orientation?
    • Orientation is held to welcome new students and introduce students to important policies, as well as general College and faculty information.
  • When is my orientation?
    • Orientation will be held after your registration day. The date will be mentioned in your offer letter, and if the date has been changed, you will be informed via SMS.
  • Is it compulsory to attend orientation?
    • Yes, it is compulsory to attend orientation as you will be receiving important information at the ceremony.
  • What if I can’t attend orientation?
    • You will miss out on very important introductions and information, which are necessary for your studentship at the College.
