CERTIFICATE 4 IN MARINE SCIENCE

Objectives of the programme

The programme aims to enable students to:

  • demonstrate generalized knowledge and understanding of key concepts and essential skills of marine studies and diving/water sports;
  • apply relevant skills and techniques to carry out routine diving/water sports tasks and tasks related to marine studies;
  • use basic strategies to analyse, evaluate and solve problems related to marine studies and diving/water sports as they arise at the workplace;
  • apply language and mathematical skills required to undertake further studies;
  • Use computer skills and applications competently for workplace and for educational purposes; and
  • acquire critical thinking skills and research skills that are appropriate for carrying out a range of activities independently for study purposes and for workplace application.

 

Entry Requirement:

  • Three O'Level passes C and above, OR
  • Certificate 3 in a relevant field

Alternative Entry
  • 18 years of age and work experience of one year in a job that required reading, writing and comprehension in the language of instruction
